About Us

Welcome to Five Springs Kennels Boykin Spaniels Gun Dogs. Michael and Deborah Mayo are the breeders/trainers of Five Spring Kennels located in the outskirts of Farmville, the “Heart of Virginia” VA.
 

With Michael’s experience in training, breeding and raising Registered Coonhounds for over 30+ years, and Deborah’s love of Wing shooting and Gun Dogs, we welcomed our first Boykin Spaniel to our family in 2020! A bird/gundog was a new adventure for both of us, it's been exciting and a huge blessing!
Our Boykin Spaniels are Registered with the Boykin Spaniel Society, AKC and UKC. They are health tested according to the BSS recommended guidelines and their results are posted on the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) website. 

Our Boykins offer exceptional Bloodlines with strong proven Pedigrees that excel as…Hunter/Retriever Gun dogs in the Fields, Water or Marsh! 

We limit our breeding program to one or two breedings a year. Five Springs Kennels is committed to providing the very best start for our puppies, ensuring they are well rounded and adaptable in various environments! Our puppies are socialized at an early age, are introduced with light training to bird wings, scents, water and obedience. For the first five weeks, we raise up our puppies in our home with tons of love, from our home to yours! If you are looking for a dedicated loyal hunting partner and/or a loving family pet as an addition to your family, we can provide the perfect match for both of you.
